Certification Exams:  All applicants, unless exempted via reciprocity, must take and pass, with a 75% or higher, the National Core and at least one category-specific exam to become certified.  Exams are administered by Metro Institute.

Certified Applicator (CA)

Certified Applicator (CA):  An individual certified by the Department to provide pest management services in accordance with the laws

and rules.

Certified Applicator Application (Online) - $75.00 Application Fee (No Handling Fee)

Certified Applicator Application (Editable PDF) - $75.00 Application  Fee + $10.00 Handling Fee = $85.00 Total

Qualified Applicator (QA)

Qualified Applicator (QA):  An individual certified by the Department to provide pest management services in accordance wth the laws

and rules and qualified to be registered as the Qualifying Party of a licensed business or school district.

If currently certified and eligible, an electronic version of this application is available via the "MyPMD" for Individuals account

management system.

Certification Reciprocity

For Certified Applicator applicant, reciprocity affords an applicant who is certified out-of-state and has taken the National Core Exam,

the ability to take the Arizona Laws and Rules exam in lieu of re-taking the National Core Exam.  Upon passing the Arizona Laws and

Rules exam, an Arizona Applicator certification in those categories for which they are certified/licensed out-of-state.  If there are no

like categories, reciprocity will not be awarded. 

For Qualified Applicator Applicants,  reciprocity affords an applicant who is certified out-of-state and has taken the National Core

Exam, the ability to take the Arizona Laws and Rules exam in lieu of re-taking the National Core Exam.  Applicants are still required to

take at least one category-specific exam to be issued a Qualified Applicator certification.

Business Licensing

A license issued by the Department to a person and that entitles that person and their employees to engage in the business of pest

management.
