2026 Spring/Summer Scholarships Available

The Arizona Community Tree Council and the AZ Department of Forestry and Fire Management Urban and Community Forestry Program recognize the need for skilled workers and continuing professional development in maintaining a sustainable healthy urban and community forest.  For this reason, we are offering scholarships to provide opportunities to participate in workforce development activities that will ultimately build local capacity to care for community and urban forests. All classes can be used with Spanish translation services with the exception of PPQ.

Eligibility

Scholarships are open to all and will be awarded based on a competitive application process. Awards will be based on the availability of funds and an evaluation performed by a panel of urban forestry professionals. This scholarship will cover conference registration fees, training fees, and examination fees. The scholarship selection committee reserves the right to partially fund scholarships and applicants will be notified before any partial funding is approved.  Successful applicants will be required to provide a final statement detailing activities undertaken and how these activities will contribute to the urban forest.

Questions

Application questions may be directed to Maddie Burton, UCF Program Manager (mburton@dffm.az.gov)

Workshop and training questions may be directed to Rebecca Clemence, ACTC Executive Director (execdirector@aztrees.org).

Major funding is provided by the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management Urban and Community Forestry Program and the USDA Forest Service. These institutions are equal opportunity providers.
