A Conversation about Tucson’s Million Trees Initiative

(Tucson Mayor Regina Romero pledges to plant one million trees by 2030 to increase the city's tree canopy and help mitigate the effects of climate change)

11:40 – 12:00: Zoom meeting space opens, participants socialize and get acquainted with the Zoom platform.  Suggest participants join online at least 10 minutes before scheduled start.

12:00 – 12:10: Welcome and Zoom rules (Bev Babb, Executive Director, Arizona Community Tree Council - ACTC)

12:10 – 12:15: Welcome from the Society of American Foresters (SAF) (Brenda Geesey, Chair, SAF Southern AZ Chapter) 

12:15 – 12:45:  Tucson Million Trees Initiative (Nicole Gillett, Tucson Urban Forestry Program Manager)           

12:45 – 1:15:  SAF Business Meeting.  Non-SAF participants may leave the meeting at this time, but they are welcome to stay online if interested.

  •       Update on Palo Verde / Southern Arizona Chapter Merger (Mark Nabel)
